Brooklyn College Continuing Education offers a wide
variety of courses 4 semesters a year - Spring, Summer,Fall and
Winter. Programs are available to adults and to young persons through
the Young Person's Academy . Courses offered include: Accounting/Bookkeeping,
Business, College Prep, Computer Technology and many on-line courses,
English as a Second Language, Test Prep and College Preparatory
courses, Health Care, Day Care, Child Care, Keyboarding skills,
Paralegal and legal secretarial courses and Real Estate Certificate
Programs. The Continuing Ed program also offers a Renal Dialysis
Technician Training Program and GED courses. Course fees vary. Office
hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 6:30 PM, Friday

BPDI offer courses in computer applications, management/supervisory
training, and industry-specific training in the areas of manufacturing,
services and retailing. In addition there are classes in how to
start your own business. BPDI provides on-site training and on-campus
training to businesses and corporations on a contractual basis.
BPDI's rates are less expensive than commercial firms.

The Enterprise Center serves those at the intersection
of art and commerce - artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals.
The Center provides information skills and resources to start-up
businesses, developing enterprises, and freelance professionals
by offering short, conveniently scheduled classes in small business
management and computer skills, and by hosting conferences, roundtable
discussions, and other special programs. Comprehensive computer

LAGCC's Division of Adult Continuing Education offers
a number of business-related courses, workshops, and programs to
the general public through the LaGuardia Urban Center For Economic
Development. Courses include:
1. Bookkeeping, a 1-day workshop to familiarize participants with
topics such as balance sheet and income statement fundamentals,
chart of accounts, debit and credit, and preparing for QuickBooks
Pro;
2. Quickbooks Pro, a 2-day 12-hour workshop on business
finances;
3. PREP (Preparing for Profit)is a 32-hour subsidized
training program in governmental contracting for small, minority,
and women-owned businesses. PREP workshop topics include contracting,
certification, accounting / finance, marketing, proposal development,
communications, business plans, and computer applications. Three
workshops are offered annually, in April, June, and October. The
all-day sessions run for four consecutive Saturdays. The $110 fee
covers the cost of registration, training materials, and refreshments.
PREP is jointly sponsored by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority
[MTA] with La Guardia Community College and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

to small business, marketing, financial management, human resources,
and many more. A Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small Business
Management is awarded on successful completion of courses. The average
fee per course is $550. Other professional certificate programs
in marketing and management (such as the Certificate in E-Business

of Running a Business, Contracts and Grants, and Quickbooks Pro
